KOTA BHARU, 18 APRIL 2023 - YBhg Datuk Husam bin Musa embarked on his first working visit to the state of Kelantan as the Chairman of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) starting yesterday.

The two-day visit began with a briefing session by Major (B) Ismail bin Hassan, the Director of the Eastern Region of SPNB at the Kelantan Branch Office of SPNB, followed by a friendly program with all the staff of the Kelantan branch.

Today, he attended the Key Handover Ceremony for Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) to complete the event of handing over keys to six recipients from the Kubang Kerian and Kota Bharu parliamentary constituencies.

According to Datuk Husam bin Musa, following the announcement by YB Nga Kor Ming, the Minister of Local Government and Housing Development (KPKT) regarding the latest criteria for RMR application requirements, SPNB anticipates an increase in RMR applications this year.

"The increase in the monthly income eligibility threshold from RM3,000 to RM5,000 will provide greater opportunities for eligible citizens to own their own homes through this RMR Program."

"Therefore, for those interested in this RMR program, applications can be made online through the official SPNB portal at the link www.spnb.com.my," he added.

The other eligibility requirements for RMR applications are as follows:

i. Malaysian citizen.

ii. Applicants must be between 18 and 65 years old.

iii. Applicants and their spouses must not own a house or possess a dilapidated or incomplete house.

iv. The proposed land/site must be suitable and free from liens/encumbrances/restrictions. If the applicant is not the landowner, the applicant must obtain permission from the landowner.

v. The land area must not be less than 3,000 square feet (subject to design).

Since its introduction in 2002 until April 16, 2023, SPNB has successfully built a total of 8,877 RMR units in the state of Kelantan.
