KPKT Committed To Developing Public Infrastructure And Citizen-Focused Housing For The Well-Being Of The Community

SELANGOR, 13th July 2023 – YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming (YB KM), Minister of Local Government Development, has announced an allocation of RM2.79 million to the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council to upgrade and maintain public infrastructure in Kampung Baru Daerah Hulu Selangor.

YB KM conducted a field visit as part of the KPKT's Sentuhan Kasih Program this morning to assess the needs of public facilities and infrastructure in Seksyen 3, Bandar Utama Batang Kali, Kampung Stesen, Ulu Yam Lama, Kampung Asam Kumbang, Taman Kalumpang, and Kampung Air Panas, Hulu Selangor.

The announced allocation covers BP.1 and Kampung Baru Cina projects as follows:

  1. Upgrading works for the main drain in Seksyen 3, Bandar Utama Batang Kali;
  2. Upgrading works for the existing basketball court in Taman Kalumpang;
  3. Maintenance of the water retention pond in Taman Seri Batang Kali;
  4. Upgrading works for the main drain in the Sungai Buaya area, Serendah;
  5. New kiosk construction in the Hulu Selangor Municipal area;
  6. Upgrading works for fencing around the covered basketball court in Kampung Asam Kumbang, Hulu Selangor;
  7. Restoration of the badminton court and installation of fencing in the playground area of Kampung Asam Kumbang;
  8. Upgrading works for fencing around the basketball court and other related works in Kampung Bukit Chandang, Hulu Selangor; 1/3
  9. Upgrading works for the existing drain in Kampung Baru Kuala Kubu Baru (Chuang Rasa), Hulu Selangor;
  10. Upgrading works for the basketball court in Kampung Baru Damai (Serendah), Hulu Selangor;
  11. Proposed upgrading works for the drain in Gurney;
  12. Upgrading works for the basketball court in Kampung Dato' Harun, Serendah, Hulu Selangor;
  13. Upgrading works for the Dewan Balai Raya in Kampung Stesyen (Ulu Yam Lama), Hulu Selangor; and
  14. Upgrading works for the drain in Kampung Stesyen (Ulu Yam Lama), Hulu Selangor.

According to YB KM, "The Federal Government is committed to providing the 'Sentuhan Kasih KPKT' based on the needs identified through KPKT's initiatives to ensure the comfort and well-being of the people in Hulu Selangor. It is a performance-based budget, aimed at enhancing KPKT's services and focus on the well-being of the people."

During the visit, YB KM also attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the MADANI Rakyat Houses in Kampung Air Panas, Selangor. The construction of MADANI Rakyat Houses under the Kampung Baru New House Building Program is fully funded by KPKT, with Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) assigned as the implementing agency. Priced at an affordable rate of RM70,000 per unit, the MADANI Rakyat Houses consist of 660 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

YB KM stated, "The Kampung Baru New House Building Program, MADANI Rakyat Houses, is established to improve the quality of life for rural families and build safer and more comfortable homes as the foundation for family growth. Therefore, a total of 22 units of New Kampung Baru Houses will be built in Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, and Selangor."

He added, "The entire allocation for upgrading public facilities and infrastructure is performance-based, aimed at ensuring KPKT's services and focus on the well-being of the people continue to be enhanced."

Also present during the field visit were YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, EXCO for Local Government, Public Transport, and New Village Development; YBrs. Tuan Muhammad Razman bin Abu Samah, Deputy Chief Secretary (Management and Development) of KPKT; YBhg. Datuk Hasleen bin Isnin, Chief Executive Officer of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB), as well as senior management from KPKT and state and district-level department heads.

KPKT, through the Department of Local Government (JKT), will continuously cooperate with Local Authorities (PBT) throughout Malaysia to realize development plans aimed at enhancing the quality of services and the well-being of the people.
