SEPANG, 01 MARCH 2023 - YB Haji Akmal Nasrullah bin Mohd Nasir, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Housing Development (KPKT), conducted a site visit today to observe the current status of the Aspire Residence residential development project in Cyberjaya.

Also present were Ybhg. Dato' Haji Abd. Hamid bin Hussain, Chairman of the Sepang Municipal Council, Datuk Norazam Khamis, Director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), and En. Zahanuddin bin Kamarudin, Chief Executive Officer of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB).

The Aspire Residence Cyberjaya project is one of the residential projects initiated by Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad in 2016 but experienced delays due to cash flow issues with the previous contractor.

With construction recommenced in May 2022 by a rescue contractor, KPKT is confident that this project, which has achieved a progress rate of 89.74%, will be completed within the designated timeframe to ensure the well-being of the existing 558 buyers of these residences.

According to YB Haji Akmal Nasrullah, KPKT will continue to focus on efforts to resolve distressed and abandoned projects throughout the country in the next five years, as there are numerous such projects involving residential housing for the population.

Furthermore, he explained that an initiative will be undertaken to revamp the national housing policy to prevent the recurrence of issues related to distressed and abandoned projects.

YB Haji Akmal Nasrullah also informed that SPNB will ensure that the rights of the buyers are fully protected in accordance with the Sales and Purchase Agreement signed by the buyers. This includes matters related to Late Delivery Charges (LAD) as stipulated in the sales and purchase agreement to compensate for any losses incurred by the buyers.

The Aspire Residence Cyberjaya project involves the construction of three residential blocks comprising 1,168 units in three different categories based on the size of the residences. The development comes with comprehensive facilities such as a swimming pool, playground, multipurpose hall, and gymnasium.

SPNB is committed to prioritizing housing provision projects for the entire population under the supervision of KPKT, empowering the housing agenda and the well-being of all citizens.
