1997

21st August 1997: SPNB was established under the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

2000

USL was formed (51% owned by SPNB). A joint venture between SPNB and Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) established to build army quarters in the Klang Valley.

2001

Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) appointed SPNB as implementation agent for the rehabilitaion of abandoned projects.

2002

SPNB introduced Skim Rumah Keluarga Nelayan Terengganu which was designed to assist lower income earners. The program name was then changed to Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR-People Friendly Homes).


3 houses completed.

2003

530 houses completed.

2004

Majlis Keselamatan Negara appointed SPNB as an implementation agent to provide homes for flood and tsunami victims in Kedah, Penang and Acheh.


2,802 houses completed.

2005

Rumah Mesra Rakyat programme was expanded to Sabah and Sarawak.


3,734 houses completed.

2006

4,485 houses completed.

2007

12,301 houses completed.

2008

Majlis Keselamatan Negara appointed SPNB to develop houses for flood victims in Johor, Pahang, Kelantan and Sabah.


6,757 houses completed.

2009

9,229 houses completed.

2010

11,453 houses completed.

2011

5,082 houses completed.

2012

New designs were introduced using IBS (Integrated Building System) and IBS Hybrid System.

2012

RMR Online System for Rumah Mesra Rakyat online application system was introduced.
